Cerita Rakyat Roro Jonggrang Dongeng Candi Prambanan

 

Long ago, in the village of Prambanan, there was a kingdom led by King Baka. She has a very beautiful princess named Roro Jongrang.
Once, Prambanan defeated by Pengging Kingdom led by Bondowoso. King Baka killed on the battlefield. He was killed by Bondowoso who sangatb magic.
Bondowoso then occupy the Palace of Prambanan. Seeing the daughter of King Baka's beautiful that Roro Jongrang, raised his desire to marry Roro Jongrang.
Jonggrang know that Bondowoso is the man who killed his father. Therefore, he sought a reason to reject it. Then, he proposed requirement made 1,000 temples and two wells inside. Everything should be completed overnight.

Bondowoso undertakes Jonggrang requirements. He asked for help to his father and deploy troops spirits to help him on any given day. At four in the morning, just five temples unfinished and the two wells almost completed.
Knowing 1,000 temples have been almost completed, Jonggrang fear.
"What should I do to stop it?" He thought anxiously imagine he must accept the proposal Bondowoso who had killed his parents.
Finally, he went to wake the girls in the village of Prambanan and ordered to turn torches and burn the straw, banging pestle in a mortar, and showered flowers are fragrant. The atmosphere was becoming bright and boisterous. Radiating red tinge in the sky immediately.

Bondowoso very surprised and angry realizing his efforts had failed. In his anger, Bandung Bondowoso cursed Jonggrang be a statue to complete an unfinished temples.
Jonggrang stone statue placed inside a large temple hall. Until now, the temple called the Temple Jonggrang. Meanwhile, the temples in the vicinity called the Candi Sewu (Thousand Temples) although the amount has not yet reached 1,000.
